Yesterday I was admitted to the hospital for surgery. The reception staff were very friendly, and the check-in on the 4th floor was also friendly and helpful, escorting me to the 5th floor on the right. I was given a neat, renovated single room. The nursing staff, both morning, afternoon, and evening (night) shifts, were incredibly kind and concerned about my concerns and pain; no question was too much for them. The same goes for the doctors and assistants in the intensive care unit. Thank you all for making me feel so at ease, and for making me feel I was in good hands. Respect to all of you!
Went to the emergency room in Geraardsbergen today. I just got back from a long trip with a flight of over 17 hours. On the outbound flight, I felt severe pain in my calf upon arrival, and I initially thought I had a torn muscle. Afterwards, I was told there was a very high chance I had a blood clot, which could lead to a pulmonary embolism or worse. I wanted reassurance, but it turned out an ultrasound wasn't possible on the weekend, and I was practically ridiculed by a rather sarcastic doctor. I was told that they're not there to reassure people when there was no one in the waiting room, and they were spouting nonsense about Egypt and Africa... well, they had time for that. In other words, I'm not reassured; I have to wait until Monday to see my doctor and hope I don't have any problems in the meantime. Anyway... a very bad experience. If the future ultrasound shows that I actually did have a thrombosis, I'll file a complaint!
Not satisfied... I went there on Saturday, August 30, 2025, because I was bleeding, knowing I was 14 weeks pregnant. They took blood and said there was nothing wrong. I asked to see a gynecologist, but the nurse wouldn't, so I went to another hospital for an ultrasound and was told my baby had died in my womb. So be careful next time: BRING A Gynecologist IF A CLIENT REQUESTS IT!
Very disappointed!! I went to the emergency room because I had trouble breathing, was coughing a lot, and was coughing up a lot of phlegm. The doctor didn't even examine my mouth. He just prescribed a puff and some syrup! If you have an emergency, don't go to this hospital!
I went to the emergency room today for a wasp sting on my leg. I waited an hour to see the doctor, but he refused to examine me properly. He sent me home without taking any blood samples or anything, and even told me it was my fault he hadn't eaten anything that day. Where are we going? I thought emergency care was about helping people. I'm never going there again. That doctor gave me a 0 for the emergency doctor. But I do get 5 stars for the nurses. Thanks to them, my panic attack went away.
