Good hospital and clinic, staff speaks English too and is friendly and knowledgeable, food is not bad for a hospital, parking is not that expensive for long stays. Would get 5 stars if it had Wi-Fi at the rooms.
A total mockery.. Three times with my kids to emergency, and each time spent more than three hours on waiting rooms... is like they are expected to see if the person is getting better or dying.. After three hours of waiting the nurse is putting you inside the doctor room and tell you the doctor is coming quickly...and yeah is coming 30 to 45 minutes.. thank you! And is not only here. In Brussels as well I have been two times with some colleagues and same thing! Such a bitter taste of health care system!
Run away from gold digger, swindler dr. Mattens Veerle (proctologist)!!! I came from UA, and have some problem near 10 years. I passed all tests and 1 one-hour not very pleasant examination (proctology) in UA hospital and should to do surgery but my appointment was canceled after the war started. I came to Belgium as a refugee with this problem. I wanted to know how much money will cost this operation here. I called the gastroenterology department and asked about consultation with the best surgeon, it's not urgent, I can wait for the best one. On day X, l was at 8:55 at the hospital and was waiting for Dr. Mattens for more than 1 hour in a lobby, because she was late. At 10:12 l came to her cabinet. I told her my diagnosis, asks how much will cost the surgery and if she has enough experience/equipment to do this. She said me: I’m not a surgeon!!! You need other doctor. I’m not a surgeon. I can’t help you. I will check if is he in the hospital now. Wait in a lobby. After again 15 minutes in the lobby I asked the secretariat “where is the other doctor (surgeon)??? They said : “Oh, he will be on Friday next week we can make a new appointment it's your bill for you 75 euros!!!!! Waaat? 1 hour in transport, 1 hour in the lobby 2min in Dr. Mattens cabinet without any exams or treatment, just to know that she is not a surgeon l should to pay 75 euros!!! I couldn't stand this information and started to cry. Iam learning Dutch and have no job yet. I came to the hospital just to know can l afford this surgery or not and for nothing should to pay! I talked with “ombudsdiensd”, showed income certificate, medicine protocol and other evidences. Woman from “Ombudsdiensd” said that dr.Mattens don’t want to cancel the bill. I should to pay 75 euros for “2 minutes consultation”. She spent time for me. It’s not interesting for her that lm below the poverty line!!! It’s not a human. It’s greedy, heartless swindler, real scoundrel. Be very very careful with her. She’s sold her soul for 20 euros. It's the same as taking bread from a homeless person. Don't help the unscrupulous doctor Mattens make money! It's real Gold bigger!
I am an admitted patient in your olv Aalst Ziekenhuis. I was admitted in the hospital via emergency room because of swollen and infected left foot ankle last week.( 16/05/2022 ). Till today ( 24/05/2022 ) they have not given any treatment or medication for my swollen foot infection except Defalgan Forte. I have diarrhea that has not been cured also since last Monday. Till today my blood pressure is 224/114. The staff has not been nice to me. I press red button for help they don't come. They give me breakfast at 9 o'clock in the morning. Nursing staff has been rude and abusive to me. Today the doctor Andre Ghasijls ( Nephrology ) came to my room and told me that I can leave the hospital today . When I asked him to give me ( Good Health and Healthcare certificate ) he refused. PLEASE, Mevrouw Greet AND Medical Council intervene, help me recieve proper health care, provide me proper treatment, medication and proper recovery from my various different infections. Not the most expat friendly hospital. Blood lab is always behind, even when you have an appointment (minimum 45 minutes) = no respect for your time or the engagements & appointments you have afterwards like work. Not the most patient friendly hospital, especially when it comes to telling you how to prepare or what to expect during a certain procedure. I was also once left in the ultrasound room for 1 hour waiting, with multiple people who walked in the room without knocking. It was only after my husband asked a nurse where I was that someone finally came to see me and said oh sorry there was a mixup and we didn't know you were in here (how scary for a hospital). We have had one nice encounter with a gynecologist however we had two unpleasant ones before that. I will admit I am really hoping for a home birth to avoid any problems, lack of care or concern during my delivery. I hope I will be able to update positively, fingers crossed.
