Poor care and under staffed. Not attentive to patients needs and less concerned with keeping the family members of the hospitalized well informed on care options. Highly recommend going to Ghent.
Hi. I had a cycle accident during the Flanders sportive end March and sustained a bad head injury. Everyone from the response car and ambulance, everyone at the hospital, all the doctors were superb and I would like to thank them all. They were all highly professional, courteous, kind and patient. I’m English. Unfortunately I fell off my bike doing Tour of Flanders last Saturday. 7 ribs and broken clavicle. All of the staff were amazing, professional and very friendly especially ITU doctors and nurses. Special thanks the Christine and Carla my Professor of English, Hedi who was on nightshirt and Dr Cooke (not quite right spelling but similar) thank you all for looking after me. I arrived home safely!
Fourth time in this hospital. 1,2 rotting apples can make you hate a place even though the majority of the staff are great hearted and efficient hardworking people.
I've also had some really bad personal experiences with the nursing staff... they're having so much fun at night, laughing so hard they can't sleep. An 80-year-old man called three times to go to the toilet and no one had the time (or desire) to come check, but they continued having fun in the room of a more important Dutch patient, only to then scold the poor man for having a bowel movement. And no... I don't need a copy-paste response from Annelien from the communications department! She has the easiest job of all... spending the whole day copying and pasting a pre-digested message that's of no use to anyone. They shouldn't complain about being overworked in Zottegem...
