    I hate that I had to have surgery here. The doctor I have to see is a kind attentive soul. The staff, from scheduling to billing to recovery room nurses are horrible. You're in an operation bed and they ram you into walls. You come out of surgery and they say they'll give you water and refuse. You're freezing and are supposed to be given blankets and they don't. They refuse to give you your belongings when you ask, in the waiting rooms. Nothing to make you feel at ease. You have your eyes operated on and they refuse to help with glaring lights. You're put into waiting rooms with no privacy to recover post op that make you feel like you're in a WWII facility. Seriously have had better treatments in Asia and Turkey and the US and France and even Mexico better than this. On discharge, I literally asked how I could get out of the hospital because I’m not near an entrance deep within the hospital and an eye surgery limiting my sight.The despicable person literally said to use the door. I've been put on morphine and medicated and couldn't even be assisted to an exit. I literally asked if I get wheelchair out and he said you can go get a wheelchair yourself we don’t bring them up hereand they’re too busy to help somebody exit the hospital. When you're nervous and struggling and sponge and scared you would think humanity would be crucial. They let you know they don't care at all about you If you can, don't get hospitalized or have a surgery here. And definitely ask for someone else to be attending to you than this person in room a395. But it was all staff, not just him. He was just particularly inconsiderate.

    I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire Cardiology Department at UZ Brussels for the outstanding care I received during my 20-day stay in the hospital. A very special thank you to the ICU team and the wardroom staff for their kindness, professionalism, and compassion. Every nurse, doctor, and caregiver made me feel safe and supported during one of the most difficult moments of my life. Their dedication and patience truly made a huge difference in my recovery. I want to give a big and heartfelt thank you to Prof. Dr. Mark La Meir, whose exceptional expertise and precision made my surgery a success. His calm confidence and the quality of his work gave me trust from the very beginning. I am extremely grateful for the life-changing care he provided. To everyone at UZ Brussel who took care of me , thank you. From the medical teams to the support staff, each one of you contributed to my healing, and I will always remember your kindness. I highly recommend UZ Brussels Cardiology to anyone in need of top-level cardiac care. ❤️🙏

    I struggled for a long time with chronic wounds and multiple surgeries. After 10 unsuccessful operations, I finally came to UZ Brussel Hospital, where the last surgery was successful. Plastic Surgery – Dr. Giunta and his team: Truly amazing, showing skill, patience, and compassion throughout the treatment. Thorax Surgery – Dr. Smets and his team: Excellent care and professionalism, helping me recover successfully. Nurses and all medical staff: Provided outstanding support and care every step of the way. I will never forget their dedication❤️ and am deeply grateful to all of them.

    I had an MRI appointment at UZ Brussels and faced some issues with my prescription. The staff remained calm, patient, and very professional throughout. They even took the initiative to call my doctor and have the prescription resent by fax. I truly appreciated their kindness and efficiency, they made what could have been a stressful situation very smooth. Excellent service!

    EDIT: My original post was just the start of my experience of how awful this hospital really is. This is the fifth country I’ve lived in and this has to be the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. I received a bill from the bailiff with interest charged for one of the most unpleasant hospital appointment I’ve ever had (a total of 140 euros for one appointment) with a doctor bordering on abusive to patients. They claimed I didn’t pay but they never sent the bill to the correct address. Someone at billing I spoke to then said I could pay just 100, minus the interest. However, I’ve also now received a follow up bill for the remaining interest. I was then sent another bill for an appointment made by this horrible doctor that I never agreed to and then canceled. Billing argued with me that I have to show proof of cancelation. This was not stated anywhere beforehand that proof would need to be provided, they ask you to fill out a form online, which I did. The hospital is clearly treating patients like cash cows. And now, today, I had an appointment here for something else. I spent an hour on the phone asking for the details of where it is, with people claiming no such appointment existed. I got to the hospital and started asking for help and directions and got nothing but hands in my face and then someone at reception yelling at me for skipping my turn when I just wanted to ask for instructions on how to proceed. Finally, I got to my appointment and was told I’m too late and they won’t see me. Knowing this hospital I have no doubt they’ll probably send me a bill for this appointment which took me over an hour to get to each way, for which I took off work, lost money and wasn’t seen. It’s like some people got together and decided let’s open a hospital where they treat patients as badly as possible and just try to get their money. Absolutely awful, I’ve never seen anything like this.
