He's been my doctor for years, and he's helped me tremendously! He's a top doctor who takes a lot of time for his patients. My GP rarely sees such reports. And he's willing to help me find an alternative way to help with the medications I can't tolerate. Through a physiotherapist, I found Dr. Swerts. He takes his time with his patients and provides a thorough diagnosis. 2020: A very professional and friendly specialist. He took his time and performed the necessary tests to arrive at a well-founded diagnosis that, at first glance (only two weeks into treatment), seemed spot on. After six months of terrible pain and numerous tests, I finally have hope and a prospect of recovery. All the questions I had about my symptoms and diagnosis were addressed in a clear and understandable way. Update June 2023: Pain complaints had returned last year. I was dominated by the pain and strong painkillers. Dr. Swerts ordered further tests and didn't let go, unlike many others. Now, four months later, with the right medication, I am almost pain-free. I'm back to life. My eternal gratitude to Dr. Swerts... a top doctor.
About three weeks ago, my GP referred me to Dr. Swerts in Sint-Truiden. I explained to him that three years ago, I had undergone a fusion of several lumbar vertebrae and that since then I had been experiencing pain in my coccyx, even with slight movements. When I asked if this pain was caused by my back problems, he said that only an examination could determine this. I repeatedly made it clear to Dr. Swerts that I agreed to this examination on the condition that he would not manipulate me. I was asked to sit on his table and bend forward. I did this as far as I could, after which he placed his hand on my shoulders and pressed my upper body forcefully downward. I responded by placing my hands on my legs and pressing against them, while he instructed me to remove my hands and pressed myself down further. I then stopped the examination. Since then, I have been experiencing more pain again and have had to take more painkillers. Is this attitude acceptable for a doctor?
