Very slow at working with people and getting results. Not a good customer service towards people as we spent 4 hrs with no clear solution to our problems in our neurological issues.
Racism! Everytime my wife was there with hearth problems they had the same question : ,, why aren’t you speaking Nederlands if you are living in Lede ?! ‘’ . And then they were very rude and start speaking in Nederlands … I do not recomand the hospital for people who are speaking anything nor Netherlands , they are ,,trying to help you but you are feeling like a fool cuz you aren’t speaking their rented language .
Very similar experience to a lot of the other review here. Went for an MRI scan which in itself was fine . However, the radiology reception seems to be manned by the most unfriendly, unhelpful and empathy lacking staff members. After just under 3 weeks, myself and my doctor are still unable to see the results. The IT support for the online portal say two sets of results are in the system one with my name and one with my name and one with my name the wrong way round. I guess this would be the fault of the hospital. The IT cannot resolve this and say the hospital has to do this, the charmer on reception says IT needs to do this in no uncertain terms and will not give any reassurance that it will be solved. Based on this experience will avoid even it means a longer waiting time in Gent.
Most unfriendly sanitary center and the neurology receptionists are unbelievable for a center that treats humans. Always make sure to have someone translating your issue otherwise they will just hang you off when calling and just hearing bonjour. The precedent reviews mean a lot about the whole hospital. Worst experience ever and never again!!!
Wish I could give zero stars. The staff are very prejudice, they don't want to speak English, even though most of them speak it fluently and they love to make fun of patients. They rarely examine you properly and then send you away. Once I was urinating blood and crying in pain the nurse asked me if I took a paracetamol and didn't take it seriously until the urine test came back and was really bad. And other time I had my appendix removed and they didn't give me enough anesthesia so I woke up leaving the surgical room with the tube still down my throat. Again, another time I met with the gastroenterologist about surgery to remove my gallbladder and he refused to speak English until I called a friend to translate, then magically spoke it perfectly but proceeded to lecture me for 15 mins about Dutch. Even the paramedics coming from ASZ are awful. If you have the choice, go to OLV, you'll get the odd rude ER nurse but mostly they're kind and take your symptoms seriously. ASZ should be ashamed of how they treat people, if you hate people and don't have the capacity for empathy to volnerable people, don't be in healthcare.
